James is a London-based director who has been making films for 15 years. He has an instinctive ability to tell stories that emotionally resonate. For him, filmmaking is a way of seeing the world. He is drawn to stories about connection and vulnerability, creating films that feel both intimate and cinematic. The blend of classic sensibility and modern storytelling continues to define his work today.
His award-winning short films include Wild Bear (2025) and Slightly Red Handed (2021), which have screened internationally at venues and festivals including BFI Southbank, IMAX London and Cannes Film Festival. He has shot on location in Iceland, written/directed a stage-musical and had projects funded by the renowned festival ‘Kino London’ with distribution received through ‘Omeleto’.
Alongside his narrative work, James has directed commercials for brands including UNiDAYS, Kier Group and Frontline. He works across documentary, branded and narrative content at Pictures for the People, collaborating with clients such as West One Music, Royal Collection Trust and Pan Macmillan.
